Despite the extensive research on DDL, there is a scarcity of empirically rigorous studies that have explored the relationship between DDL and individual differences in foreign/second language learning. This gap in the literature calls for further methodologically rigorous studies into how individual differences may influence the effectiveness and implementation of DDL in SLA contexts. Therefore, the primary objective of this call for papers is to encourage researchers to contribute to the understanding of individual differences in DDL within SLA. We invite scholars to submit their methodologically rigorous empirical studies and innovative practices that shed light on the relationship between individual differences and DDL in SLA contexts. Submitted papers should aim to propose ways in which an understanding of individual differences can facilitate the seamless integration of DDL into everyday language teaching practice. By exploring the role of individual differences, we can develop practical strategies, guidelines, and pedagogical approaches that optimize the benefits of DDL for diverse learners.
