Acting Together: Empirical, Computational, and Theoretical Advances in Joint Action Research

These are just some of the multitudes of questions that we seek to address with contributions to this special issue. We aim to bring together conceptual, empirical, and computational approaches to different topics, ranging from lower-level processes linking perception and joint action, to higher-level processes underlying verbal communication and face-to-face interactions. We are also interested in contributions that provide potential applications of joint action principles at both the behavioral and neural level, as well as those that speak to technological advances in human-robot interaction and artificial intelligence. Other highlighted themes include mechanisms of interpersonal synchrony, sense of agency, collective decision making, neural and physiological bases of joint action and shared experiences, as well as new methodological approaches to the field of joint action.
